We introduced a 'soft' cut-off of 2 hours at our Mavis Farm Check Point (approx. 13km) this year.
Some runners were allowed to progress into the Kloppershoek kloof having reached the Check Point after 2 hours, and those who reached the Check Point after 2½ hours were withdrawn.
None of the runners who passed through Mavis Farm after 2 hours made the Mavis Top Check Point of 4½ hours.
Point of reference for future Rhodes runners ... should you not reach the Mavis Farm Check Point by 9 a.m. it is highly unlikely that you will reach the Mavis Top Check Point before the cut-off 'up top'.
It should be noted, we had good weather in the valley this year.
