Champions are champions and the adage held true when the Rhodes Public School received a visit the day before the 31st Rhodes Trail Run.

Defending race champions Leilani Scheffer and Kallie Burger, together with a group of friends including Rhodes Run gold medallist and Snowflake permanent number holder Herme Visser had prepared well stocked stationery packs for every pupil. The packs were thoughtfully prepared with different items for the various grades.

Another Rhodes Run permanent number holder Guy Jennings donated drawing books for every pupil “to stimulate their creativeness” and these will be handed to each pupil together with the stationery packs when the new term commences.

The winter chill which every resident of Rhodes, and the district, experiences was foremost on the mind of Kisch IP Director Julia Stephens who was once again leading a team to man a feed station on the run. The staff of Kisch IP hand knitted over two hundred scarves which were handed over and will also be distributed.

Champions are always champions, as the next day both Leilani and Kallie successfully defended their titles and Julia and her team were voted ‘Best Feed Station’ by the runners.
