Our two 'Pioneer' runners are well known.
However maybe slightly less well known are Francois and Hannelie Nel of the farm 'Hamilton' at the foot of Naude's Nek.

The only feed station 'Pioneers' still standing since 1989.
Francois & Hannelie, with friends assisting over the years, have resolutely manned their feed station at its traditional spot at the Kloppershoek intersection. They have experienced the 'best' Rhodes weather, sleet, snow, mega-sub-zero temperatures, and the 'worst' Rhodes Run conditions being clear sky and an unnaturally warm positive thermometer reading!
They will be making their 28th appearance, the only feed station team to have worked at every event since the inaugural run.
