Warm heads for Rhodes children
The children at the Rhodes Public School received a fantastic warm surprise this past weekend when they each received a beanie.
The beanie's, donated by Guy Jennings and Apula Advertising, were handed out to the pupils on Youth Day by Rhodes Trail Run Race Director Evie Raubenheimer and were an immediate hit. Guy Jennings, who is a regular benefactor of the school, said "I come to Rhodes each July to run Evie's punishing event and I know how cold it gets there in winter. As an outdoorsman I also know that most body heat escapes through the head and keeping your head properly covered helps massively against the cold. I sincerely hope these beanies will help keep the children's ears and heads warm."
At the Rhodes Youth Day rally held later in the day the beanies, embroidered with a red ‘Apula', were much in evidence.
Evie also handed over a donation from the Rhodes Trail Run of wax crayons and painting sets for the Foundation Phase children.
